FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

While every situation is different, the answers below should clarify how to proceed with secure destruction.

What type of documents can be shredded?

Concerning paper-based files or documents, we tell people that if you can tear it, we can shred it. It’s really that simple.

If it’s media you’re dealing with, we can handle anything from large servers down to the smallest of USB flash drives.

How much does shredding cost?

As much as we’d love to give you a base price, we need more information to provide the most accurate quote. Factors include, but are not limited to:

  • Location (Atlanta area vs. South Georgia)
  • Volume (1 box vs. 100 boxes)
  • Accessibility (stairs, elevators, loading dock, etc.)
  • Recurrence (one-time cleanout vs. monthly/weekly service)
  • Type of files needing to be destroyed

What should I do to prepare my files for destruction?

Simple…

  1. Separate paper from media.
  2. Remove any heavy metals or plastics.
  3. Provide access to our team for the removal of your files.

How can I be sure that my files will be destroyed?

Once we have agreed upon a proper solution, your files follow a rigorous chain of custody until they are destroyed. Our team provides documentation of the material, containers/units, and weight removed from your location.

Depending on the solution you choose, you will either visually confirm destruction (on-site shredding) or receive notification that material was destroyed under 24-hour camera surveillance. Once complete, you receive a Certificate of Destruction for your peace of mind.

Being GCIC vetted requires that all of our employees receive yearly training and fingerprint background checks to adhere to the stringent standards set forth by the GBI.

What happens to my documents once they are shredded?

We are essentially the first step in the recycling process. Once your material is destroyed, it is baled and prepped for transportation to one of our partners in the fiber industry to begin recycling.
